Exhausting Campus

Back. Up. The. Truck.  Actually, don't.  Utility trucks are all over campus, attempting to maneuver their way between hundreds of students transitioning from one class to another.  The other day, a demented thought crossed my mind.  I imagined slamming the tailgate of the reversing truck with my fist to simulate a collision and then before anyone could jump out of the vehicle, I would sprawl out on the pavement, being sure to scatter my backpack contents and writhe with agony.  I wouldn't even feel bad when they figured out I was perfectly fine.

Must the trucks drive the already crowded sidewalks on campus during class break?  It is a cardinal rule that no student should use the grass as a pathway, but by driving utility trucks on our walkways, we have no other choice.  It's hard enough to dodge masses of students without having to worry about frequenting trucks clogging our pathways.  Then again, if trucks are allowed to drive the sidewalks, maybe I should pretend I'm serving a useful purpose on campus and drive my Camry from class to class.  I'd save my feet and no one would think twice.
